UEFA organized a conference for security service employees from member countries in Lausanne and Geneva, Switzerland. Elnur Ibishov, a member of AFFA and a senior expert on security in international games, took part in the event.
The opening ceremony of the UEFA Annual Safety and Security Conference 2024 featured speeches from UEFA President Aleksander Ceferin and the President of the Switzerland Football Association, Dominique Blanc.
The first stage of the three-day event focused on securing the European Championship, UEFA Europa League, and UEFA Conference League games playing in 2024. Topics included fans entering the stadium in large numbers, use of pyrotechnic devices, racist chants, unauthorized individuals entering the stadium, shortcomings in security personnel, and ticket checks during matches.
On the last day, the chiefs of security services from clubs competing in the UEFA Champions League, Europa League, and Conference League participated in discussions.
