The award was given to Maxim Medvedev, who for many years defended the honor of the Azerbaijani national team and this year ended his career as a professional football player.
Before the Azerbaijan-Sweden match, which took place at the Republic Stadium named after Tofig Bahramov within the framework of the first week of the group stage of the UEFA Nations League, veteran footballer was awarded for his merits in national football in (111 games) by the executive vice-president of AFFA, Sarkhan Hadjiyev and the acting head coach Rashad Sadygov of the "Zira" club, who played the most games for us national team. He was handed a symbolically decorated uniform of the Azerbaijani national team.
Note that in the period from 2009 to 2022 Maxim Medvedev played 81 games in the national team and scored 4 goals.
