As reported, at a meeting of the AFFA Executive Committee on June 18, 2020, it was decided to establish an Operating group to hold domestic football competitions in the 2020/2021 season and prepare a calendar plan for training camps of national teams.
In accordance with the decision, AFFA Executive Vice President Elkhan Mammadov established the following Operating Group:
Vaqif Sadigov, AFFA Vice President - Chairman
Agasalim Mirjavadov – Member of the Coaching Committee
Jahangir Hasanzadeh - Acting Technical Director of AFFA
Vyacheslav Khomenko – Chief Physician of AFFA
Elgiz Abbasov – Head of PFL Technical Sports Department
After the discussions and studying the opinion of the clubs playing in the Premier League, the members of the Working Group submitted a proposal to AFFA to start the 2020/2021 season of the Azerbaijan Premier League on August 21 this year. The proposal of the Working Group was submitted by AFFA to the Professional Football League.
Before the PFL decided on the start date of the championship, AFFA appealed to the relevant structures, taking into account the requirements of the special quarantine regime applied in our country in connection with the COVID-19 pandemic.
