The Schoolgirls tournament, organized in cooperation with AFFA and the Ministry of Science and Education, with the support of UEFA, has concluded.

First the teams of Baku school No. 55 and Lankaran school No. 5 met in a match for third place at secondary school No. 59. Then, in the final match, the teams of Baku secondary school No. 220 and Lankaran secondary school No. 1 faced each other.
Secondary school No. 220 became the winner of the tournament. The teams of secondary school No. 1 and secondary school No. 55 took second and third places, respectively. The first three places were awarded diplomas and medals, and the winner was awarded a trophy.
The awards were presented by Head of AFFA Women's Football Department Zumrud Aghayeva, technical director Emrah Aykurt, AFFA's person responsible for work with state institutions Ramazan Samedov, staff member of the State Agency for Preschool and General Education Khanim Hasanova and staff member of Baku City Education Department Sevda Ramazanova.
Note that the Schoolgirls tournament is a pilot project intended for girls aged 7-9. Initially, this season the project was held in 2 regions - 20 selected public and private schools in Baku, as well as 10 schools in Lankaran. The main goal of the tournament is to create an interest in football among girls from an early age by creating AFFA U-10 Girls League next season and to attract new players to the national teams in the lower age group in the future.
